Yesterday, I walked from the station towards the market to have a cup of coffee with a friend. At the Binnenwatersloot, the birds are already building nests again. The Oude Delft looks beautiful; people are sitting on terraces, and the city feels alive today. It was a moment when I felt truly grateful to be part of this city.
My ambition for the city council stems primarily from my love for Delft. I have been studying Mechanical Engineering here since 2022. After being politically active both nationally and in Utrecht, I became involved in local politics here during my studies.
After joining the Delftsche Studenten Bond, I quickly got involved with STIP, where I learned that there is still a lot of work to be done. There is a major housing shortage in Delft for students, starters, and other residents alike. Everyone deserves a chance to find a suitable home.
Furthermore, I envision the future of the city center as a vibrant, low-traffic, and people-oriented hub full of entrepreneurship, where pedestrians and cyclists are given space. Delft must be accessible to everyone; parking garages around the city must be available for both residents and visitors.
This is how we create a Delft that is accessible to all, and a city that has something to offer everyone.
